connecting to land
2 day observational sketchbook workshop
(suitable for beginners and established artists)
The two day workshop aims to inspire an observational sketchbook practice sharing innovative and intuitive ways to visually document resources. Connecting to land, walking, gathering, observing is fundamental to immerse yourself in place, slowing down to notice and experience the repetitive rhythms of nature.
Combining outdoor exploration with studio practice students are encouraged to be playful, curious, exploring mark making and experimental drawing techniques using found objects and earth pigments.
With a growing awareness of sustainable creative practices, I will demonstrate how to prepare the biodegradable soya milk binder I use to paint earth pigments on cloth & paper and give you the opportunity to try out the process
There will be one-to-one mentoring sessions to evaluate your outcomes, guidance on how to push boundaries to expand your understanding of the various creative processes to help discover what resonates with you.
